Simply a lovely and charming overall experience. Delicious food, though of course not Michelin-star quality 😉 Great, friendly, and charming service, fantastic location. I simply love it for what it is. Thank you, and see you next time! 👍🏼

A gem hidden behind old half-timbered houses. I'm almost tempted not to review it, so as to keep this beautiful place to myself. But that would be a disgrace. The best Thai food I've ever had in Hesse, the friendliest staff anywhere, and excellent cocktails. And while you sit on the terrace, the Lauter River burbles below you, and you enjoy the peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle. Fantastic!

Had delicious cocktails there. The seating is very comfortable, with a direct view of the Lauter River. It's run by Asians who are known for their friendly manners. Highly recommended.

There's really not much to say here, it's simply fantastic. My wife and I stumbled upon this small and unassuming Thai restaurant by chance. Without expecting much, we decided to give it a try and were absolutely blown away. The food is amazing. While there isn't as much variety as in many other Thai restaurants, what they offer is truly authentic Thai cuisine, not adapted for European tastes. Furthermore, the service was incredibly attentive, which is sadly rare these days. When we ordered, they pointed out that our dish was very spicy and asked if we'd like them to adjust the seasoning for us. We declined, wanting to keep it as authentic as possible. And that was definitely the right decision; it was simply delicious. So, once again, a big thank you to the staff and the kitchen; we'll definitely be back.

After we sat down in the cozy restaurant located right on the Lauter River, I was initially quite alarmed. Looking at the kitchen and menu, I feared something as dreadful as the last time we had an Asian restaurant in a shopping mall. But thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised :-) The "Cafe an der Lauter" is a very good Thai(?) restaurant with a manageable menu, but very tasty dishes and very friendly staff. Everything on the plates looked fresh and was beautifully presented. Something that's becoming increasingly rare (probably because many people complain about it) is fresh cilantro on Asian dishes. It was subtly present on/in my fried rice dish. My companion, who doesn't like cilantro, also made the right choice with the vegetables. The pineapple gave it a fresh note, and the overall flavor was perfectly balanced. ... So, don't let the small building and the very limited menu put you off, it's definitely worth a visit and if you're lucky you might see people falling into the water :-) We weren't.

Delicious classic cocktails at fair prices! Super friendly service and a very idyllic location. The murmur of the Lauter creates a very special ambiance! And the glasses are already half empty... because 😋 …

This is a cozy restaurant and is definitely recommended if you're visiting Lauterbach! The waiters and staff were very friendly, and the restaurant's location was very good. This restaurant serves Thai food.

⚠️Not easy to find. You have to go through a house ⚠️ Beautiful spot right on the water. You should definitely try the homemade spring rolls with peanut sauce. I've rarely eaten Thai food this good, and certainly not at these prices. Add to that the extremely friendly service from the entire team.
